Our Vetting Procedure
All our babysitters are over the age of 18. Our sitters come from a wide range of backgrounds including Nursery Deputy, Nursery Practitioner also Arm Forces. Babysitters are interviewed by myself and other directors in the company. They must undergo a strict vetting procedure before they are allowed to babysit such as Reference check, DBS check and Proof of Identity check.
What is the minimum booking charge?
The minimum booking charge which is equivalent to 3 hours pay is there to support our sitters to cover their travel costs and ensure the payment is enough to be willing to give up their free evening to complete your booking.
Can we have extra children staying at our house while the babysitter is there?
We do ask that you let us know at your time of booking a sitter about any extra children that will be staying with you. We need the children’s names, dates of birth and any medical conditions.
We follow Ofsted guidelines for adult: child ratio to ensure the best care for your children. If extra children are present there is an additional charge of £3ph. In some circumstances you may need 2 sitters at your house, we would let you know when you book if this is required
What are your babysitting times?
We operate between the hours of 6 pm and 2 am. Babysitting is classed as a temporary care of children within their own homes. If parents requires Permanent day time childcare, I also own a nursery that operates between 8am to 6pm. You can get in touch with me at noahsnurseryltd@gmail.com or visit our website at www.noahsnursery.co.uk
Do all babysitter have a police check?
Yes, every babysitter holds a clear DBS check. The safety of our families is our top priority and unlike our competitors, applicants for Noah's Ark Babysitters will not be registered without a clear enhanced DBS check (previously known as CRB).
To ensure that this safety continues we also complete regular reviews of all our sitters to check they are still suitable to work with us.
Is my booking fee refundable if I no longer need a babysitter?
The booking fee is non-refundable once a booking has been confirmed to you.
It can be difficult for parents to invite someone into their homes and to have the responsibility to look after their child/children. Parents sometimes ask if this is possible to meet the sitter before hand. If this is the case, we recommend that you request the sitter to arrive 30 minutes earlier (which will need to be paid for) so they can meet the children and you are able to go through routines. please bear in mind that all sitters have been carefully selected and interviewed before joining the agency.
What is the earliest and latest I can have a sitter?
Babysitting is classed as temporary care of children within their own homes (or can be a hotel)between the hours of 6pm until 12 am.
With regards to a finish time, we do appreciate an approx finish time for two main reasons. Firstly, for security purposes the sitter can tell their own family what time they are due home. Secondly some sitters with young children themselves are only happy to sit up until midnight. If you require a later finish, please inform the agency and we will try and accommodate your needs.
